A fountain designed by Toyoo Ito, one of the world's most innovative and influential architects
Fira de Barcelona is the venue for trade fairs in Barcelona. Every year it organizes and hosts more than 150 fairs, congresses and corporate events. It is the largest trade fair venue in Spain and one of the most important in Europe and the world. Its annual contribution to the city's economy is enormous and also generates great social and public value. Every year, around 2.5 million people pass through its facilities and it creates more than 30,000 jobs. Fira de Barcelona has 400,000 m² of exhibition space, one of the largest in Europe, spread over three major fairgrounds: Montjuic, Gran Vía and the Barcelona International Convention Center (CCIB). The Fira de Barcelona Gran Vía venue is located on Av. Joan Carles I in Hospitalet de Llobregat. It has eight pavilions designed by the Japanese architect Toyo Ito. It is a totally modular, versatile space with the capacity to host between 3,000 and 12,000 people. In front of the main entrance, there is a fountain of dynamic movements and colors with a unique design – also the work of the celebrated Japanese architect assisted by Fluidra.
    Description of Fluidra's scope
This fountain project recreates a Japanese atmosphere reminiscent of a lake of water lilies. The effect is created with cool white LED lighting. The fountain was designed in conjunction with the best Japanese architect: Toyoo Ito. He is known as a creative master who has managed to combine ideas about the physical, real and virtual worlds in his creations. In addition to participating in the design, Fluidra was also in charge of the supply of products and installation.
